Supporting the ancient idea of Olympic Games our bicycle wheels will again connect the two Olympic capitals: London and Rio de Janeiro. The ride will last 171 days from February 17 till August 5, the day of opening the Olympic Games.
After the send-off ceremony in London we will fly across the Atlantic to the South Caribbean islands – Trinidad and Tobago. We will spend a week cycling in this fascinating twin-island country, then hire a boat to the remote Venezuelan region – the vast Delta del Orinoco. From here the route will go to La Gran Sabana, an ancient country of tepuis (table-top mountains), known also as Venezuela’s paradise for cyclists. After having a chance to visit the highest world waterfall, Angel Falls, and climb the mysterious Mount Roraima, we will shortly enter Brazil on our way to the wilderness of Guianas (the Land of Many Waters) rainforests. Cycling across Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana we will reach the Amazon Delta. To cross the Amazon River it will take 2 days by boat.
The rest more than 3 months to Rio de Janeiro we will stay in Brazil, passing 14 states. The major part of this part of the route we will cycle close to the Atlantic Coast with a travel-friendly climate lasting all the year. We will visit the biggest cities of the Northeast Region rich by unique cultural heritage, Afro-Brazilian traditions. After Salvador da Bahia, the former capital of colonial Brazil, we will turn inland, to cerrados of Minas Gerais visiting the Chapada Diamantina National Park and continue cycling south towards the group of historic colonial towns (the most famous Ouro Preto among them) reminding the gold age of Brazil. We arrive to Rio de Janeiro following the ancient gold road – Estrada Real.
Note. We are working now on details of the route trying to include most interesting sights. The draft route is updated regularly. Here you will find the list of UNESCO Heritage sites on our route.
Join us for a month, a week, a day or for a whole route! See you on the road!

Dear BaltiCCyclists,
This letter is to inform you about the registration progress to the 4th Olympic Expedition From London to Rio de Janeiro.
The main point is that we have enough participants to organise the ride under the initially stated conditions. Detail information on:
– LT site http://www.bicycle.lt/en/main/
– PL site http://www.bicycle.pl/content/
As for today we have 21 participants registered. The majority will start from Tobago, and will cycle 1-2 months. Only 6 have signed for the whole distance up to Rio though 2 more have promised to deliver their registration forms on the nearest days.
Unfortunately due to cancellation of the flights by Carribean Airlines from London to Tobago many participants have chosen the cheaper flights from Frankfurt to Tobago, and only a few will take part at the farewell in London.
We have decided to prolong the discount registration deadline for those who would like to start from Trinidad &Tobago up to December 10. If you still have not registered or paid membership fee we kindly ask you to fulfil this procedure as soon as possible. No exemptions after December 10, 2015!
For those who will start later the discount deadline is 3 months up to the start day.
The start day is approaching, and we wish you a good preparation for the ride.
