There you have to cross the road and ride until you pass the motorway. Here the bike path ends. Then you turn right towards the Supermarket \/ Storage &#8220;Maxima Baz\u0117&#8221; close to the motorway another bike path begins along side the motorway to Grig\u0161k\u0117s. Pass Grigi\u0161k\u0117s town and find the road that turns left to Lentvaris<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advantage of route 2 :<\/strong> More bicycles paths<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disadvantages:<\/strong> More hills (ups and downs), most parts along some mayor roads\/<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/explore\/recording\/vilnius-trakai-alternative-via-grigiskes\/?referrer=gpsies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/explore\/recording\/vilnius-trakai-alternative-via-grigiskes\/?referrer=gpsies<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Both versions meet each other at the railway crossing in Lentvaris.<\/p>\n<p>From Lentvaris to Trakai there is a roadside bicycle path. But before you come to Trakai you can turn right and cycle to the Old Trakai Yacht club. You will come to the Parliament (right hand side) with the monument for the barricades of 1991.<br \/>\n<b>Cross river Neris<\/b> via the Old bridge and follow <b>Mickevi\u010diaus street <\/b>to it&#8217;s end. Then turn right onto Birute street. You will see the pedestrian bridge over river Neris in front of you. Cross it turning left and go straight through the park, passing the huge Open air stage to the left. And the end of the road you will come to an main road. Turn right here, cycling on the sidewalk and after some 100 meter you will come to a roundabout. Cross it straight and you come on <b>Savanori\u0173 prospektas<\/b>. Here you have to go straight for almost 7km. Then you will pass a <b>railway bridge<\/b>. I<\/span>f you went straight after the bridge you will get on the motorway to Kaunas, which is no fun cycling&#8230;)<br \/>\nThis is an <b>Old road <\/b>from the 18th century, which goes 1 1\/2 km always upwards. At the end you will come to a small village (left hand a church). Ahead you will meet the street and a petrol station. <b>Turn right<\/b> and cross the bridge over the motorway. Next road turn right and you are already on the Old road to <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"background: #ffff66;\">Trakai<\/span><\/span>.<br \/>\nAfter the next traffic light you might face some more traffic because there is the technical control for cars. You will pass the ruins of the watermill at Murin\u0117 Vok\u0117 and come to Lentvaris. Anyhow I recommend to come back to the railways, because the road behind the Manor is really sh***<\/i><br \/>\nLater you might see the sign &#8220;<b>Varnik\u0173 piliakalnis<\/b>&#8221; to the right. On the bridge you will already see the impressive water castle of <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"background: #ffff66;\">Trakai<\/span><\/span>. If you don\u2019t feel safe cycling in common traffic with cars through Vilnius city, you could take a train from Vilnius Central train station to Lentvaris, and then cycle 10 km to Trakai. If you choose cycling from Vilnius: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">0.0 Start from the Cathedral and cycle along Gedimino str.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">2.0 Passing by the Lithuanian Parliament (R hand side) go <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">STRAIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0and cross a bridge over the Neris River<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">3.0 Cross another bridge (pedestrian) over the Neris River and goSTRAIGHT\u00a0through Vingis park, the largest city park in Vilnius famous for its <span lang=\"lt-LT\">huge open air concert stage.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"lt-LT\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">5.5 At traffic light turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0to the main street leading to a roundabout.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">6.0 After you enter the roundabout turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0to the 2<\/span><sup style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">nd<\/sup><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"> exit to Savanoriu str.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">9.5 After passing a railway viaduct, before the street going steep uphill, turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0to Titnago str.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">10.0 After 500 m. turn <span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">\uf0e7<\/span> to the Old Road (18<sup>th<\/sup> c.) leading uphill.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">11.5 Back to the street and after crossing viaduct over the highway A1\/E85 turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0to Lentvario str. and cycle 2 km\u00a0STRAIGHT<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">13.5 At BRIDGE , passing technical car control centre on R hand side.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">20.5 Keep cyclingSTRAIGHT\u00a0for 7 km, en route cross the River Voke. Arrive to T-form junction in Lentvaris (if turned <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0and cycled 2 km, you could see Lentvaris Manor House). Turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">LEFT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0for going to Trakai and cross the railway. Turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0to Gelezinkelio str. right after crossing the railway.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">26.5 Cycle STRAIGHT\u00a06 km in the direction of Trakai and before entering the main road A16\/E28 turn <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">RIGHT<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00a0to Zemaites str. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: \u017dv\u0117rynas (District of Wooden Houses) <strong>to Vingis Park<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you come to the round about at the Main road Savanori\u0173 prospektas it&#8217;s time for a decision:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">ROUTE 1:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;traditional route&#8221; leads along Savanori\u0173 prospektas, then turn right at Titnagio St. use the very scenic &#8220;Old road&#8221; up the hill, cross the bridge over the motorway, turn right \u00a0and then ride on the the OId road (Lentvario St.) towards Trakai.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/explore\/map\/vilnius-trakai--5?referrer=gpsies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/explore\/map\/vilnius-trakai&#8211;5?referrer=gpsies<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">ROUTE 2:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new version recommends you to cross the river and then find the small road &#8220;\u0160iltnamio g.) \u00a0that leads along the river and up to the &#8220;Ambulance hospital&#8221;.<br \/>\nFrom the hospital there is a bike path to Gari\u016bnai market. There you have to cross the road and ride until you pass the motorway. Here the bike path ends. Then you turn right towards the Supermarket \/ Storage &#8220;Maxima Baz\u0117&#8221; close to the motorway another bike path begins along side the motorway to Grig\u0161k\u0117s. Pass Grigi\u0161k\u0117s town and find the road that turns left to Lentvaris<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advantage of route 2 :<\/strong> More bicycles paths<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disadvantages:<\/strong> More hills (ups and downs), most parts along some mayor roads\/<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/explore\/recording\/vilnius-trakai-alternative-via-grigiskes\/?referrer=gpsies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/explore\/recording\/vilnius-trakai-alternative-via-grigiskes\/?referrer=gpsies<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Both versions meet each other at the railway crossing in Lentvaris.<\/p>\n<p>From Lentvaris to Trakai there is a roadside bicycle path. But before you come to Trakai you can turn right and cycle to the Old Trakai Yacht club. You will come to the Parliament (right hand side) with the monument for the barricades of 1991.<br \/>\n<b>Cross river Neris<\/b> via the Old bridge and follow <b>Mickevi\u010diaus street <\/b>to it&#8217;s end. Then turn right onto Birute street. You will see the pedestrian bridge over river Neris in front of you. Cross it turning left and go straight through the park, passing the huge Open air stage to the left. And the end of the road you will come to an main road. Turn right here, cycling on the sidewalk and after some 100 meter you will come to a roundabout. Cross it straight and you come on <b>Savanori\u0173 prospektas<\/b>. Here you have to go straight for almost 7km. Then you will pass a <b>railway bridge<\/b>. I<\/span>f you went straight after the bridge you will get on the motorway to Kaunas, which is no fun cycling&#8230;)<br \/>\nThis is an <b>Old road <\/b>from the 18th century, which goes 1 1\/2 km always upwards. At the end you will come to a small village (left hand a church). Ahead you will meet the street and a petrol station. <b>Turn right<\/b> and cross the bridge over the motorway. Next road turn right and you are already on the Old road to <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"background: #ffff66;\">Trakai<\/span><\/span>.<br \/>\nAfter the next traffic light you might face some more traffic because there is the technical control for cars. You will pass the ruins of the watermill at Murin\u0117 Vok\u0117 and come to Lentvaris. Anyhow I recommend to come back to the railways, because the road behind the Manor is really sh***<\/i><br \/>\nLater you might see the sign &#8220;<b>Varnik\u0173 piliakalnis<\/b>&#8221; to the right.
