\n\t\t\t\tOn cycling in Russia there is still not much to say… Maybe the bicycle becomes a toy for some richer people – and is some transport for the poor on the country side- but there is no movement that it might become a common means of transport as it eg. is starting in the Baltic states.
\n\t\t\t\tStill, there are sporting cyclists and MTB arrangements and one "engine" is for example the cycling club "Velopitr" in Saint Petersburg.
\n\t\t\t\tThus, in Kaliningrad the conditions are much more modest…

Die einzigartige Landschaft der Kurischen Neh­rung lädt ein: Eine rund 80 Kilometer lange nur wenige Kilometer breite Landzunge, die in der Mitte zwischen Litauen und Russland geteilt ist. Sie ist in Jahrhunderten von Wind und Wetter aufgeschüttet worden und bildet jetzt eine große natürliche Bucht. Riesige Wanderdünen erstrecken sich über Kilometer. Und wenn auch schon auf der litauischen Seite wenig los ist, dann ist man in Russland ganz allein mit Wald und Strand. Das ganze Gebiet Kaliningrad ist für Ausländer schwer zu bereisen (z. B. benötigt man ein Visum). Was einst die "Kornkammer des Deutschen Reiches" war verwildert. Die Natur deckt sich über die Felder und Kirchen zerfallen. Seit 10 Jahren wird zwar die deutsche Geschichte dieser Region “wiederentdeckt”, aber in jedem Ort steht immer noch eine Lenin-Statur? und Denkmäler erinnern an jeden glorreichen Sieg der Roten Armee.
