And in the big cities A LOT of traffic. And sometimes bad gravel roads you couldn&#39;t image. But mostly you&#39;ll recognize the asphalt in these green deep forests or through these fields scattered with small wooden houses or lakes &#8211; a blue painted sky with white clouds and a road that leads up to the sky. You will rarely see the red star of the Soviet Union, but hear about the fight of the people against the &quot;invaders&quot; and first of all the knights of the German order in the middle ages. You will see their castles and hear about the fate of the defenders. You will see, how the noblemen governed the land in the 17th-19th century. Feel the happiness of independence and the tragedy of war and the new times. But despite the fact that the three countries where for a long time part of the Russian empire and the Soviet Union, they have few in common. Estonia is close to Finland: By language, by landscape and by ferry &#8211; it takes you only some hours from Helsinki to Tallinn. Lithuania has a long common history with Poland and shares a lot of culture, religion and heritage. But not the language which is similar to Latvian. But Latvian culture is somehow different . Well, you see the problem. And I didn&#39;t even tell you about the region of Kaliningrad which belongs as an external territory to Russia and lies between Poland and Lithuania. Here are storks and cranes, elks and beavers. Nothing special &#8211; in the Baltic States. We admit: There are often no other tourists with you, there are often no special bicycle paths. And in the big cities A LOT of traffic. And sometimes bad gravel roads you couldn&#39;t image. But mostly you&#39;ll recognize the asphalt in these green deep forests or through these fields scattered with small wooden houses or lakes &#8211; a blue painted sky with white clouds and a road that leads up to the sky.
